French Roast: Almost black in color, this is slightly darker than the Italian. The term French Roast comes from the times when old world chefs used big, cast iron frying pans to roast the coffee. The spiciest of the roasts, the aromatic notes are sacrificed with this coffee, but we do blend it with others, such as our Sumatra Mandleling to achieve our very popular Espresso Marco Polo.
