Guatemalan Antigua: The Antigua region, in the mountains on the Pacific side, saw coffee first (like Brazil) in the mid-1700's. The high growns are known for a fine acidity, heavy body and a wonderful bouquet. In earlier times, rubbish and pitch were burnt to the north to create dense smoke to protect the coffee from frost.
